2017 Shiraz Rosé
THE JUDGEMENT OF THE CELLAR MASTER
Dark salmon pink in colour, with a shadow of burnt orange. Explo-sive perfume of blossoms and red berry fruit, evoking strawberry and raspberry compote. Delightful caramel and Turkish Delight, rose water nuances.
Soft and creamy mouth-feel. Rich and textured. Flavours find their way from the nose to the palate. Refreshing.
The Shiraz Rosé will last well into 2019, if there is any wine left.

THE WINE CELLAR
Handpicking of early Syrah fruit to capture the freshness and straw-berry flavours and al-lowing for a low alcohol wine. The 2017 Shiraz grapes were harvested in two lots. First picking on the 23rd of Feb-ruary (55%) and the second on the 24th of March (45%). The grapes of the 1st lot were crushed and then gently pressed and settled for 48 hours. The juice was cold fermented for about 16 days at 12 to 13 °C and kept on the lees till blending. The grapes of the 2nd lot were crushed and the free run juice were transferred to neutral French oak barrels. The juice was fermented for about 6 days at 16 to 20 °C and kept on the lees till blending. Before bottling the two lots were blended together in creating the 2017 Shiraz Rose.
The Rivendell Shiraz Rose 2016 goes perfectly with strong spices and especially curries.
